• Welcome to the Brittany Club in New Zealand’s website. We hope you enjoy reading about the Brittany breed

( also known as the Brittany Spaniel and Epagneul Breton in other countries) in New Zealand.

New Zealand is the location of spectacular filming for movies such as "The Lord of the Rings", "The Hobbit" and "The Lion,

the Witch and the Wardrobe" and the Brittany enjoys hunting opportunities on upland game such as Pheasants, Chukor and Quail,

plus geese, ducks, rabbits and hares, and big game (Red Deer, Chamois and Tahr) in these locations.

Some of our Brittany are exhibited at dog shows, some enjoy gundog trials, while others do obedience and agility. Many are faithful pets.

New Zealand only has one official representative breed club, and as such

The Brittany Club in New Zealand is recognized by DogsNZ (ex New Zealand Kennel Club) since 2010

and is also associated with the New Zealand Gundog Trial Association (NZGTA) since 2017.
